Join the Jean Augustine Centre for Young Women’s Empowerment on Saturday, February 22 for our Black History Month Celebration & Fundraiser: Honouring the Legacy, Re-imagining the Future: Celebrating Black Achievements & Advancing Justice.

Remarks by the Honourable. Dr. Jean Augustine, former MP for Etobicoke-Lakeshore and the architect of Black History Month in Canada.
A keynote speech by award-winning playwright and author of Da Kink in My Hair, Trey Anthony.
Performances by Jean Augustine Centre participants and spoken word artist, Coco LaRain Veira.
A catered brunch prepared by celebrity Chef, Michael Woods.
An opportunity to shop from Black-owned vendors and businesses.
All proceeds from ticket sales will support the Jean Augustine Centre and its after-school programs and workshops for girls and young women.

1. What is the dress code for this event?
Attendees are encouraged to wear formal attire.
2. Will there be parking available on-site?
Yes, there is ample free on-site parking.
3. Is the space wheelchair accessible?
Yes.
4. I have a food allergy/dietary restriction. Where can I indicate it?
When you complete registration details before purchasing a ticket, you will be prompted to enter any dietary restrictions or allergies.
5. I am attending with multiple people. Can I request that we be seated together?
Tickets that are purchased in a single order will be seated at the same table. If you wish to be seated together, designate a person to place the order on your group’s behalf to guarantee you will be together. Tickets purchased separately will be seated based on available space, and we are unable to accommodate seating requests.
